Role Overview

As a Cloud Engineer at KIT-AR you will play a crucial role in operating and improving a multi-tenant SaaS platform on the latest and most exciting technologies, supporting missing our critical applications on customers shopfloors across the world.

In your daily work you will:

• Oversee a cloud-native kubernetes infrastructure supporting KIT-AR platform, both on AWS cloud and on-prem, with ability to diagnose production issues, articulating internal and external support resources;
• Use and operate an effective and secure IAC (terraform + terragrunt) and gitops (flux and argo) platform;
• Participate in the design and evolution of the infrastructure and operations components of the platform, combining different security, reliability, observability and automation elements.
• Improve devops processes and automations to increase velocity and reliability;
• Be willing to improve existing documentation where needed;
• Integrate with internal and external project and support teams.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in operation and administration of cloud-native solutions based on Kubernetes (EKS) in production environments;
• Full autonomy in IAC using terraform and gitops (flux or argocd) - operating, diagnosing and authoring;
• Certification or strong demonstrable experience in AWS architectures and infrastructure;
• Strong experience in authoring helm charts, dockerfiles for non-trivial scenarios;
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking components and protocols (AWS, ZeroTrust);
• Fully capable of creating and using reliable and maintainable automation scripting (bash and/or python);
  
• Ability to identifying and articulating design requirements, design decisions, impacts upstream and downstream; 
• Proficiency in English (C1+);

Bonus points:

• Experience one or more of the following workloads: PostgreSQL, web applications, kafka/MSK, S3, WAF, akka.net;
  
• Experience in Azure cloud architectures and resources;
• Entry-level certification on IT Service Management, ISO 2000, ISO 27001 or equivalent standards.
  
• Experience in technical cyber security workloads and requirements.
